Piano Transport Melbourne

The Piano Doctor has been instrumental in providing professional piano transport in Melbourne for thirty years. I spend each day of the week in a different part of Melbourne, starting in the western suburbs on Mondays and working my way into the inner suburbs and city area on Fridays.

What You Can Expect From The Piano Doctor Re Piano Transport

Unfortunately, valuable items such as pianos can often be damaged during a household move. This damage is usually because of untrained staff or even ignorance of the protocols required to transport pianos.
  • I am highly experienced in piano transport, having moved over 1 000 pianos throughout Melbourne and Victoria, making use of high-quality equipment to do so.
  • I will ensure that your piano is double-wrapped using professional furniture-moving blankets, which will also prevent damage to door frames.
  • Our trolleys have pneumatic tires so that your piano is not jarred and jolted when we move it, and we also use plywood sheets to protect your floors when moving the piano from the trolley to the floor.

Related Services I Provide To Piano Transport in Melbourne

Although our piano transport service is efficient and professional in itself, I am pleased to extend our services to several other areas.
  • I offer a piano tuning service. Tuning is done only by ear because electronic tuning devices are only capable of tuning one frequency at a time, and you need many notes sounding simultaneously to make music. Your piano should be tuned every 18 months at the very least, more frequently if you play more often.
  • If you are renovating or relocating, I offer a temporary as well as a longer-term storage service. I’ll store your piano in a secure and controlled environment.
  • Piano actions are intricately designed and comprise of over 4 000 parts. I can complete the action adjustment service in stages rather than adjusting the piano at once, as it is a very time-consuming process. Keyboard adjustments usually take around seven hours, as do hammer and whippen adjustments. A damper adjustment can be completed in three hours, as can voicing, while a hammer reshaping takes approximately two hours. I highly recommend that you schedule an action adjustment for your piano every three to five years to avoid deterioration of its action parts.
I use available piano wire to replace treble strings and import bass strings from Germany, which requires a longer wait.
